About our founder
Emily Lamia has been helping people grow and develop in their careers for over a decade. In 2015, she founded Pivot Journeys to create experiences that help individuals navigate their next career move and find meaningful work.
Emily spent the first part of her career working in electoral politics, serving on electoral and advocacy campaigns, and at the Democratic National Committee. She found her love of coaching and talent development as the Executive Director of Democratic GAIN, a career development association for progressive political operatives. At GAIN, she oversaw the growth of career development programming and coaching for individuals trying to make a difference through advocacy, nonprofits, government, and campaigns.
She has also worked at the Girl Scouts of the USA where she supported the recruitment, onboarding, and training of their National Board of Directors.
Emily received her Masters in Public Administration from the Robert F. Wagner School of Public Service at New York University, and her BA in politics from Mount Holyoke College. She is a Gallup certified StrengthsFinder coach and a certified administrator of The PRINT Survey. Contact Emily.
